Will Jerry Lee play again?

Will Jerry Lee play again?

Postby Richard Harvey » Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:43 am

I drop into this board every week or so in case there's news, but it's looking more and more unlikely that JLL will be announcing any concert dates. I don't see the updates on facebook, so I don't really know how he's doing apart from the updates on here. Is there any recent news on how he's doing?
Do people think he'll be up to playing any shows in the future?

I think he will, but whether he should is another matter! I'd hate to see someone even more frail than in recent years back out there.

I hope he's doing well though, ditto Kenny Lovelace.

Kenny Lovelace finished his final chemo treatment November 17 and his surgeon gave him a clean bill of health. Today, November 19, he had an X-ray and that was his final appointment He is in the clear. From a friend that visited Jerry on or near his birthday, one of Jerry's hands never came back. Whatever that means. I would say his piano playing would suffer. Nothing booked for remainder of this year.

Well, I heard that his hands are perfectly fine. So is his voice obviously. If you look at the videos he is training his legs... I think he will be back soon. Linda also mentioned he will be back on the road with Judith (who mentioned that Jerry is considering to have "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" on the new album) and The Lewis Ranch Facebook Page claims that the piano keys are relaxing only momentarily (https://www.facebook.com/LewisRanchTour ... =3&theater). All signs that he is doing well. Doctors told him a full recovery would take up to one year, but it seems it will be a bit faster than that.

We will see whether Paul's or my source is the better one. One of them must be bullshitting.

Kenny is considered to be healed. There is a 80 % chance that the cancer will not return, so it all looks good and I hope we will have him with us for many more years. Ronnie Wood received a similar treatment about two years ago and he is doing perfectly fine. Thank God the cancer was discovered at an early stage, as otherwise lung cancer in later stages is one hell of a cancer and hardly curable.

Jerry sounded surprisingly good when I saw him in recent years. Nothing embarassing about it. In New York 2017 and Sarasota 2019 he looked a little frail and moved slowly, but in Cerritos 2018 he also looked pretty good and walked around without his walking stick.

If he returns his hands/fingers should be in good shape. Otherwise it would make little sense. His piano playing was his strength at the shows I mentioned with his voice cracking here and there (especially in New York 2017).

After seeing The Lewis Ranch post my gut says he'll be back. He seems to be doing well. Every time you count him out he comes back. We will see, But, never count out The Killer

I did not edit anything.

You are obviously too stupid to read since you also ask the same stupid question over and over again.

Perhaps we'll meet up again one day and you can call me stupid to my face, instead of over the internet.
