didn't realise you were such a football fan.....imagine if Jimmy Greaves had been fit; no need for extra time.

I was born in 54 so I am 54 this year - or is it the other way around ?

sorry Perk; & other non-footie fans. 1966 (what you refer to as the golden year !) is when England won the world cup. Quite an event considering our record in recent years. Jimmy greaves was England's greatest ever goalscorer, but was not fully fit for the tournament due to a long illness & although he started in the team was injured in the early stages & did not regain his place for the final -which we won in extra time. His replacement in the team,Geoff Hurst, remains the only player ever to score 3 goals in the World Cup Final.
