Only after an unfortunate accident

(In UK a 'nappy' is what Americans call a 'diaper'. I wonder if Nappy Brown realizes in England his name is the equivalent of 'shitty diaper'?)

According to a press report, which may well be untrue, Nicole Kidman was in a restaurant with her then husband Tom Cruise, who she apparently thought was 'cruising' (giving the eye to) a blond guy. When the waiter came up for their order she reportedly said: 'He'll have that blond guy in the corner' and stormed out.

Tom Cruise denies the whole thing. This is just what was reported at the time in the press.

Yes, when he reportedly mistreated Tina, he turned her against him.

But he was still a fantastic musician.

Only when trying to impersonate Elvis, or duet with Jerry Lee.

Singing Country standards and his native Scottish songs, I quite liked him.

Didn't appreciate him trying to muscle in on Jerry's act - Raymond was not in the same league. He'd do very well on the cruise ships/holiday camp circuit.

I didn't even realise that a "nappy" meant a hair-do in the USA until someone told me a couple of weeks back. A few months after Jerry appeared on his show, Doc Imus got fired from his show for calling some black women "Nappy headed hoes", & I thought he was calling them shit-heads!

Anyway, here's Mr Brown (presumably he had more hair when he first got his name):

Who did Peggy Mount?

(perhaps only Tony will appreciate these...)

Did Derek Guyler?

What was Harry Worth?

Was Ernie Wise?

Did Diana Fluck? (aka Diana Dors)

The first time I knew what "nappy" was referring to was in the Stevie Wonder song...

"Looking back on when I was a little nappy-headed boy"
"When my only worry was what for Christmas what would be my toy"
