Seriously, I wonder what they're doing with it? It would be nice if they donated it to a museum ('The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame' perhaps?), but I suspect they'll be trying to make money out of it.

Well, let MaryJean have the money, they never got much affection from their parents

That's true, but this record is far too important historically to be kept on a private collector's shelf. I'm just thankful that the late Gary Skala didn't own it, otherwise we'd never have heard the recordings.

I would like to have seen the collection out of interest, not to look for anything rare or even to buy - just curious , was it his collection, what sort of recordings, any surprise inclusions, that sort of thing.

Southern Roots LP, Goosebumps single & a few earlier Sun / Smash singles as far as I can recall. Only (relatively) interesting thing was a poster for a 2006 concert.

Absolutely ridiculous just to list them for 24 hours, are they that desperate for money?!

ah, thanks - It would have been an eye opener if there were other artists there; must just be aimed at JLL fans -perhaps his 'personal' collection is staying with the family..... yes odd to list it for a short time - perhaps they have their reasons.

I've learned a bit more about the listings..... there were some LGL singles ,promo copies etc as well & a lot of JLL 78s all in pristine condition & Memphis pressings, and an autographed Crazy Arms 78. MJ had problems as she is a registerd UK e-bay user, but was listing from the USA. E-bay took some of the items down /could only list a few at a time etc.
When she returns to the UK, MJ is going to list again.

In other words, the 1 day "make money quick" idea didn't work...

Did you ask her what she's doing with the record?
