Well Joel joined Jerry's band in late '76 (he replaced the bass player Jerry shot!), and was in the band constantly until late '83 (he then returned a few years later). So he wouldn't have had time to work with anyone but Jerry during this period.

I started thinking about the dates I gave and could be way off. I'll try to do some research and get back.
I really liked Joel and his talent.

After a quick search, The Hee Haw air date was November 19, 1977. So I guess it wasn't Joel. I could not find it on you tube.

I recall asking him in 1987 what other artists he'd worked with, and the only name I recognised was Charlie Feathers.

Unfortunately yet another former JLL sideman apparently died today: Pete Fletcher, his excellent drummer from 1990-1991.

At this rate soon we'll only have Jerry & Kenny left!

Beside being a good drummer he was a nice and friendly man, sorry to see him go.
How old (or young) was he, do you know that Peter?

I don't know, but I don't think he was anymore than about 60.

You'll have to ad Roland Janes to the list...Jerry's guitarist on the road from 1957-1959.

Now added!

I don't think he joined until around April '58 (he was on Jerry's 'Today' TV appearance), though strangely he wasn't on the May '58 UK Tour.

Actually, Janes was on several shows with Jerry in late 1956 and remained with him until April 1957, when they had an argument and Rollie left. He returned in March 1958 and remained on the road with Lewis till end of 1959. The reason he did not go to England was that he would not fly. He hated flying. In January, 1960, he became a session player only at Sun.

From Facebook:

Remembering Luke Wright,
he passed away 2 years ago today, was one of the most unknown band members of Jerry Lee Lewis' stage appearances in the late 50's & early 60's, also played with Charlie Rich & Tex Ritter and was a member of The Four Upsetters (founded in 1959, two releases on SUN in 1963).

Picture info:
JW Brown on bass, Luke Wright on guitar and Jerry Lee Lewis 1959 in St. Louis, MO....unfortunately no additional info at the moment.

August 23, 2016, Buddy Church, 64, died at Olive Branch, Mississippi. Guitarist in the Memphis Beats in 1971-1972. Ed Dubruhl attended his funeral, which means he's still alive and kicking.
