Will Jerry Lee play again?

That may be the case. Funny thing is, there is an old thread in this group from quite a number of years ago debating whether JLL would ever perform again - after his leg(?) surgery. Of course he did get 'back in the saddle again'. So I hope you are right about his arms. He certainly seemed to be moving his arms about in the pictures from that tribute show he went to recently (where he travelled in the golf cart).

Thank you all for the information on Jerry Lee. I never see anything about him except on here. I'm glad to hear he is doing better. Keep the updates, stories and music coming!
Merry Christmas to all.

Hi & Merry Christmas! I tend to check here now and again, especially after an event like the Mississippi marker award and video. While its not everyone's cup of tea, Facebook is the best place for JLL news, direct from Judith. I'd say most of the news appears there first, and a lot more besides . Linda Gail is a frequent poster as well, so we find out about her schedule around Europe, where we've missed her in the UK this past year.

Martin.

Any update on how The Killer is doing and if he is close to performing again?

He is close to a full recovery and busy right now. Expect shows later this year.

In a video posted by Judith on her Facebook page, Jerry Lee seemingly confirmed plans to play again. he said "I look forward to the future. I look forward to coming and playing y'all some shows"

Sounds like The Killer is going to Rock on!

Yes, he is apparantly doing "awesome". Also finished the album. While the pandemic went on T Bone Burnett sent Jerry various mixes of the album to comment on.

In the video that Logan mentioned, Jerry indeed confirmed plans to play shows again. He wants to play songs like "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On", "Great Balls Of Fire" and "You Win Again" and surprisingly he also mentions "High School Confidential", which he hasn't played in 14 years.

And he hates that song as it was of the songs Wim de Boer often requested.

He also mentions 'Breathless', a song that he hasn't done for more than 30 years. Of course, there is no chance of hearing any of those two songs, even if he does return to doing live concerts.

Personally, I think he should give up on rock 'n' roll shows, and, if he feels up to it, just play gospel music.

There is a tendency the older he gets the less likely he plays songs that require an effort from him. So he will most likely be back to "Down The Line", "Drinkin' Wine Spo Dee O Dee", "Why You Been Gone So Long" and "You Win Again". Songs he can play in his sleep that still sound fairly good.

Very unlikely that he plays "High School Confidential" or even "Breathless" again, but I would not rule it out completely as he does have his mood changes and sometimes he does things that nobody would expect him to do.

Would love to hear him play some Gospel songs.

I wonder what happened to "Chantilly Lace" and "Boogie Woogie Country Man", songs he would play at nearly every show in the late 90s and early 2000s. Then he stopped playing them in 2005 ("Boogie Woogie Country Man") respectively 2009 ("Chantilly Lace"). Why?
