See message below from Kay Martin. Seems the show is cancelled....pitty since Jerry was in such a good shape!!

"Unfortunately, the relief that Jerry got from that recent back operation was merely temporary. He is in the hospital now and cannot walk. Hoping he gets some relief SOON.... but until then, no shows... I know he is sad not only for himself, but for all the fans who really want to see him. This Friday's Westbury, New York show is cancelled; don't know about the New Orleans Jazz Festival yet. Sorry, folks....
My heart is broken because I was counting on seeing him...."

What does she mean by "cannot walk" exactly? Is he in lots of pain or actually partly paralysed?

Either way, it's bad news!

Drove 12 hours for the concert to find out it was cancelled. I hope he recovers and gets back on track again soon. Kind of sad because I had my video cameras and pro audio recorder ready for action. That's life.

Jerry Lee Lewis cancels New York show; rescheudling Memphis date
The Killer’s back is acting up. Rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis announced he's been forced to cancel an April 10 concert in Westbury, New York with Chubby Checker.
A note, posted Wednesday to Lewis’ official Facebook page, read: “To all my fans…my bad back just gave out on me again and my doctor has ordered me to rest it before I can travel. I will make up this show as soon as I am able.”
According to Lewis’ manager, Greg Ericson, the 79 year-old had a procedure done in December to alleviate some nagging back issues. Though his condition improved sufficiently that he played a January concert in Tunica without any issues, and another show successfully in El Paso in February, Lewis' problems seem to have returned.
Lewis canceled a much-anticipated hometown concert at the Memphis’ Cannon Center in November at the last minute due to flu and fatigue symptoms following a promotional tour of New York City.
The show is supposed to be rescheduled, but no date has been finalized. Ericson confirms he’s meeting with officials at the Cannon Center this week to “find a date where we can make up the show.”

The Westbury date has been cancelled altogether. So much for making it up...
