Good question. Glad to see he appears to be walking okay, outside of the cane. Whatever he's smoking, he should try to give it up, but he is 79.

This is particularly disappointing as it may well be Jerry's only ever live performance of the 'Rock 'n' Roll Time'.

I'll email them in a day or two.

On facebook there's a clip now (audio only) with the snippets put together. It's really just snippets (few seconds) of each song. He sounds pretty lively on all of them, though Rock n Roll Time sounds a bit unsure. Still a shame though that they choose to do it this way. Great for the few hundred people who were there during the recording but all the people who watched it on TV only saw maybe 60 seconds of Jerry all together...not really respectfull to a legend. Don't know who idea this was though. Letterman crew, people around Jerry or the label.

I think this was done also with BB King and when the 'sit in' with house band was announced it was what I thought might happen.

This also happened back in 1995 when both Chuck Berry & Little Richard were guests on the same show! Letterman has no respect for these legends, only for his own ego.

True Peter. I think Letterman is retiring soon. That will be a good thing.

From what I've seen, I prefer his former rival Jay Leno. He certainly thinks highly of Jerry Lee Lewis (& even appeared in a movie with him!).

I also got the feeling Letterman doesn't think highly of The Killer because it seemed like he was put in a corner to keep him out of the way. I hope I'm misreading things

I've edited and uploaded all of Jerry's parts from Letterman in High Def. Enjoy it but try not to get too frustrated by the cutting out for commercials in the middle of the songs.

Thanks for that, Lucio. Paul Schaeffer really appreciated the Killer, but Letterman looked like he didn't give a sh*t. And good to see Kenny Lovelace in the Schaeffer band.

It sounded to me like they showed all of R'n'R time - just a short version perhaps? :)

Great and big thanks for your edit Lucio! Super stuff as always. Though i miss about 20 seconds of 'Release Me' which is heard precisely when Amy walks on to be interviewed. Jerry is not in picture anyway so a minor thing.

Looks like you're right. I guess our only hope of ever getting a full live version is on another TV show (I wonder if there's any more lined up?).
