A Dutch webstore, they have different samples than amazon. "geluidsfragmenten" means samples.

Split this subject to reflect post and pre release comments.

I split it so that I could move it. The Mean old man post release parts of the subject to the album section. The pre release part of the subject is still intact and in the main forum.

I have listened MOM several times now and I like it just as much as LMS.
The highlights for me are You Are My Sunshine, Roll Over Beethoven, Sunday Morning Coming Down and Hold You In My Heart.
Middleage Crazy have to much of Tim McGraw on it otherwise its very good.
There are 3 songs I think shouldnt have made it on to this album: Rockin My Life Away, Sweet Virginia and Bad Moon Rising(this is really a terrible cut)

I went through the billboard charts and here's the chartings so far for mean old man

Billboard Rock albums - #10
Billboard 200 - #30
Billboard tastemakers - #11

kind of shocked that the album is not somewhere close to the top of independent and country albums charts. grrrrrr

but it's only been out for a week

Ian splitted the topics - so please place your current commets to "MOM" in the albums section. This thread should be closed to avoid confusion.

Also the most accurate review (apart from saying that LMS was in 2008).

Why is this one more accurate than the positive reviews? It comes closer to your personal opinion, but that doesn't mean it's more accurate.

I am happy though to see most reviews have been very positive!

Because the others are written by people who listen to the hype instead of the music...

Trust me, in a few years time most fans will prefer LMS to MOM.

I don't think that's the point, Peter. Most people are simply saying how much they enjoy MOM; which against the dire predictions on many hearing the samples & even the EP, is a surprise. The general public certainly have been enthused in comments on the internet as well as fans & reviewers. How it compares to LMS is irrelevent, surely ?
As a matter of fact, I've been pleasantly surprised with the finished product and it's growing on me more & more. I didn't get inspired by the EP much at all - & much as I liked Kid on LMS/ LMS live, his (& Slashs) track is my least fav. here.
