No they're not; they're talking about the same project.

"We're approaching this record as a project to which we're committed for the next year" means that they're commited to plugging / promoting it (etc) for the next year.

Ah thanks. I misunderstood that part.

Hopefully a Boxset will come out of all of this of unreleased songs from LMS and Mean old man and maybe Warner or Bear Family will get out of there seats and release a complete Elektra boxset... It's way passed long over due

I don't think a box set of MOM outtakes would do Jerry's reputation much good...

Apparently the worse of the lot is 'Folsom Prison Blues', described even by die-hard fans as unlistenable.

I was kinda shocked when I downloaded the Bonus tracks from LMS and the songs -- You Belong to Me,No Headstone on My Grave,I don't Want to be lonely tonight,Mexicali rose and before the night is over alt. take - sounded like they did and Bright Lights big city,Last cheaters waltz and why you been gone so long sounded so good. I guess it is hit or miss .. big time

I guess You Belong to Me,No Headstone on My Grave,I don't Want to be lonely tonight,Mexicali rose where done live in the studio and thats it.
Bright Lights big city,Last cheaters waltz and why you been gone was recorded long before 2006 (maybe 2004) and have been mixed, edited etc.

Exactly. All those people who think Jerry should cut records live in the studio with no overdubs should listen to those tracks. Unfortunately it's not 1957 or 1965 or 1979 or 1988 anymore.

So what was wrong with 1972? I reckon "The 'Killer' Rocks On" was the best 'live' album JLL ever recorded! :D

I think you missed my point slightly Amadeu: I was talking about years when he (probably) recorded live in the studio with no overdubs, certainly not the case in 1982-1983 & 1994-1995!

Jimmy Rip should have been envolved in this CD. Wether you like his guitar playing or not: As a producer he did a much better job for JLL than the producers of the current album.

I agree; he was far better at altering Jerry's voice to make him sound younger.
