Forget the guests, but I think Jerry himself was more inspired here than in Toronto a few days earlier. Also these are probably the best performances to show of Jerry's diverse talents; Rock 'n' roll, country, pop standards, gospel; piano, guitar, drums!
Most of the '80's concerts has one or two boring numbers in my opinion, even London '83 (Georgia On My Mind, Would You Take Another Chance On Me), but every song here seems to feature Jerry giving it his very best.
Toronto for me somehow doesn't capture the essence of Jerry Lee's stage act in the 1960s as well as 'Many Sounds of Jerry Lee'.
The 5 episodes of this could easily be issued as a DVD, possibly with the guests removed, so it was just a continuous selection of Jerry Lee singing and playing, much like the Shindig! video/DVD I guess only in color.
