doesn't he just stand there and look worried that he is going to have to sing? or am i thinking of someone else?

i seem to remember killer bringing on some super old guy that he admired and tried to get him to sing on one of the songs, but he wouldn't (probably cuz he was too old), and to me it just felt uncomfortable, but i felt bad for Killer cuz he obviously admired the guy a lot and probably didn't realize he was too old.

yes, he was old, BUT, imo you see the deep feeling Jerry had for him!

Yes he just stands there, but I don't think anyone expected him to sing (apparantly he had problems with his throat when he got older). I don't think it's a particular good version anyway, as the "fast" part is only mid-tempo, & Jerry performs the song in the key of "G" (instead of the usual "C"), giving it a far more laid-back & relaxed feel.

Highlights for me are the songs with Keith Richard & Little Richard, lowlights are the songs with Ruth Buzey & Gary Bushey.

Incidentally, Jerry's wife Shawn also taped an interview for the show (as well as Phoebe), but this was edited out later as the show was broadcast after she died. Linda Gail recalls Jerry having an advance copy of this, & he played the Shawn interview over & over again after she died.

Incidentally, Gene Autry was 75 years old when this was taped, not much older than Jerry is now!

Overall though I think I prefer this show to '25 Years of Jerry Lee Lewis' from 1982 (both should be issued as official DVDs!).

I think my favourite slow/fast versions are Las Vegas '70, Dalton ' 79 & Lyon '80.

It was great to see Jerry playing Breathless, and that woman ruined the song! And Gary Bushey didn't let Jerry sing at High School Confidential!

Ruth Buzey, whoever she was/is, was crazy, but I actually LIKED it! Way over the top, but I thought it was quite funny.
