Piet's stories

Oops yes, 2007. I never met Henk but I corresponded with him a few times and Barrie Gamblin always spoke highly of him. Another person who did a lot for the fan clubs in the early days was Gary Skala of course, another person who has gone since 2007.

Graham Knight often says "Jerry Lee Lewis will out live us all!", and I'm beginning to think he's right!

A lot of friends and fans were in that nice sportshall and finally it was showtime at the Killer took the stage and opened with “Bonnie Maronie” followed by “Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Drinkin’ wine” even “It’ll be me”, he played almost an hour full of rockers before he slowed down with “Another Place, Another Time” (thanks Jerry) to close his show with “Chantilly Lace, Me and Bobby McGee, Whole lotta Shakin and Great Balls of Fire”, my God he played for 75 minutes solid rockers and the public was wild and wanted even more.

One of Jerry's wildest ever shows (what a shame a better video doesn't exist!).

I have done the video of the complete show - will upload it in the next weeks.

Markus

Sadly, it is not on that high quality standarts I usually want, but it was made during the rockin' crowd...

I already have this with Lucio's upgraded soundtrack, so I don't need it.

Did you film Hamburg '91 (day after Apeldoorn)? I've only seen a very short clip from this great show.

I was just checking that you were paying attention!

Of course, Piet is right:

22.02.91 - Hamburg, Germany - Congress Centrum
23.02.91 - Apeldoorn, Holland - Matenhal

It seems there are a lot of pictures not to see but if I click on the blue "Post Image" loge the picture appears. Do some people have the same problem?

I realise it is right now exact 45 years ago that Els and I went to our first JLL concert. It was a midnight concert and it started at 00.00 hr so at this time 45 years ago Els went to that podium to jump on the stage to be as close as possible to see her favourite singer. Never could we imagine that there would follow so many shows over all those years. It was good a very good show and we were very happy to see there was a fanclub of JLL run by a man who lived close to our city and even a vice-president who lived in the same city as we did. Now after all those years Wim and I are the only survivers of that group, and so is JLL. I have to thank all those wonderful people we've met over all those years for their kindness and friendship, it has brought us many, many good memories over those 45 years. It all has begin with that amazing show in the Concertbuilding in Amsterdam on that night from 13 to 14 may 1972.
