BELLAPHONE LP "Rocket"

I agree!

Also I believe that Jerry (& his people) still try to aim for his biggest & most successful release every time he releases an album, something which of course they achieved last time. This wouldn't happen with online only albums or releases on budget labels that have poor distribution.

Still, it would be nice if they could at least release a new album every 18-24 months instead of 4 or 5 years.

I figure he is 74, so if he produces other albums at this rate, after the next one, there would only be one or two more before he is TOO old. So I would rather have 3 a year that go nowhere. Oh well....we know it will never happen.

Fortunately it seems that Jerry's fallen in love with recording again, so after he's gone we should have plenty of more good music still in the archives awaiting release! But I'm sure he'll still be around when he's at least in his 90s.

I think he will be around then as well, but I question his ability to record new albums after a certain age.

they should do it like Dylan. Release an album, and the next few years release unreleased stuff until the next album comes. So many 80s stuff is unreleased... (ELEKTRA c´mon...)

Does anyone know where I can buy this album? I had it on cassette in the very early 90s but lost it during a lads' holiday in Tenerife where I played it loud and proud around the hotel pool, much to the dismay of other guests! I still love Jerry's up-tempo version of Beautiful Dreamer.

A remastered version of "Rocket" (with dynamic compression) without title "Rocket" (titled simply "Jerry Lee Lewis" like an ordinary compilation) has been released by LaserLight in 1996:

So there are three versions of this superb album:

If someone loves a loud sound (not me), the LaserLight version is just he needs. In addition it is easier to find and cheaper than the Instant CD:

ALBUM COVER RATING: 2/5

I'm going through Jerry's albums on here and giving marks out of five for the album covers (regardless of the actual content)...

A great photo on the cover, but I've only given it 2/5 as it's from 1973 (on an album recorded in 1986 and released in 1988!). If only they'd used this photo for 'Southern Roots'!
