Jerry always exaggerates. I recall when 'Youngblood' was released that Jerry said it was his first album in 12 years, so obviouly he "forgot" about the 1989 movie soundtrack album. Basically Jerry largely lost interest in his recording career at the end of the 80s, which is why so few songs from his last 3 albums have been performed live.

I don't think he 'lost interest' if you want to put it like that but maybe because of the lack of promotion, air play and frustration of how the music business works played against his enthusiasm for new products. However Last man standing and it's success must have given him a boost in his enthusiasm but I guess it's hard to be motivated after a long career with all it's up's and downs. Having Steve Bing as product leader has given us new albums with tracks and unreleased tracks that have continued to be worthwhile for fans and Jerry.

Much of the lack of promotion in recent decades has been down to The Killer himself. For example the 1995 European Tour was supposed to be to promote the album, but he only performed 1 song (at 1 concert) from it. The same with the 1983 European Tour that was supposed to promote the 'My Fingers Do The Talkin'' album, where he didn't perform any songs from it at any shows (just 1 song on TV).

I can't disagree, Peter, with that that is a fact but I think that disillusioned is maybe a better expression. He certainly promoted Last man standing better than other albums. Mean old man was not promoted as well as he was ill.

ALBUM COVER RATING: 5/5

I'm going through Jerry's albums on here and giving marks out of five for the album covers (regardless of the actual content)...

A very fine cover, and an album that's all to often overlooked these days (particularly by JLL, not that he put that much effort into promoting it in 1995!).

Right after Jerry's first Sun LP this may be my favourite JLL album cover ever. If only they would have released this on vinyl too..
