Great song! Should´ve been on the record instead of many others he already has recorded.

Yes, much better than those inferior re-recordings (Rockin' My Life Away, You Can Have Her, etc).

A little difficult to hear some of the word so her is Waylon Jennings lyrics to the song

Stayin' awake - for a week at a time,
Doing them doobies and drinking that wine,
I don't do it no more - I don't do it no more,
Roarin' all evening - running all day,
Talking so fast - I can't hear what I say
I don't do it no more - I can't do it no more
Can't do it like I done it before - I doesn't do it no
More.
I don't know - if it's just my body -getting older
Or just my mind that's getting worn
So if you're thinking - of partying strong,
I'm sorry to say, you can't take me alongD
I don't do it no more - I won't do it no more
Won't do it like I done it before - I can't do it no
More
Keeping my eyes - on them little white line,
Loving them ladies - two at a time,
I don't do it no more, I can't do it no more
Searchin' the night - for a body to share,
Then waking up wishing - that I wasn't there,
I don't do it no more - I won't do it no more

Won't do it like I done it before - I won't do it no more.

Every time I hear about - some new game that they're playing
It sounds like - that same damn game - that I played
Before,
So if you're thinking - of partying strong, I'm sorry to say,
You can't take me along
I don't do it no more - I can't do it no more

I know you've seen me do it before - but I don't do it no more
I don't know why I done it before -
But I don't do it no more.

I think this song ( CAN DO IT NO MORE) is one of the weakest songs in the MOM outtakes pack -. I believe, in one future or probably JLL album, should not miss: 1) the blues "Stepchild" or "Treat me like a stepchild", 2) the country ballad "Come on sundown she'll be gone" ( another Kris Kristofferson song) , or 3) the moved country song "I love cause you're crazy like me".- Anyway, if it were a gospel album, "Peace in the valley" should not miss.-

on the out-takes pack that I heard, the recording of "I love you cause you're crazy" is very poor due to Jerry not knowing the lyrics etc; it's a very early 'run through' it seems to me & couldn't be released without major work; unless there is another take ?

one disappointment for me of MOM was despite the early announcement of the inclusion of some KK songs, none of them were new; Sunday Morning was first class I thought, but although it's good to hear Jerry's take on any song - Rainbow, Sundown, MOM were fairly straightforward covers of well known songs. Exciting at the time, looking back some new KK songs would have been great. Having said that. I'd still like to hear Jerry do "Please Don't tell Me How The Story Ends" - no pleasing some folks :)

Martin.

ALBUM COVER RATING: 2/5

I'm going through Jerry's albums on here and giving marks out of five for the album covers (regardless of the actual content)...

Never liked these covers much. The colour version (Jerry with the girls) could've been good if it was presented better, but they both look like they were knocked up on a computer in a few minutes.
