the Linda Gail Lewis story

This was a show Linda did back in March during another short UK trip.
She was backed by Glen Darren for one of her 'regular' gigs in Nottingham and then did "The Linda Gail Lewis Story" here in the north west, at The Cringlewood club ,Northern Moor.
The nature of the show was LGL talking through her life & times and singing appropriate songs aided by photos & videos on large screens, on the stage behind her and also at the side where she could see as well as the audience. One of Glen Darren's group accompanied her on guitar ,Linda played piano and sang. She talked about early life with Jerry Lee & the family, days on the road and some of the artists she and Jerry have worked with over the years as well other influences - such as Wanda Jackson and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Appropriate songs would accompany anecdotes - such as Shake rattle and Roll for Fats Domino and Lets' Have A Party for Wanda. Although they are fairly standard songs from Linda's large repertoire , other less common tunes included Gotta Travel On, Up Above My Head and Ring Of Fire - part of a "million dollar quartet" session. For Jerry she played Crazy Arms in that part of the show. There was a chance to showcase 2 new songs from a forthcoming CD - one a beautiful ballad of her own called 'Hardluck Louisiana " -the other an 'autobiographical' rocker - but not penned by Linda. 2 great songs, The CD is out in October & she returns to the UK in November if not before. Anyone on Scott's FB group may have seen some videos from this show there. Overall it was a hugely enjoyable evening- something new to the UK but I believe she does similar shows elsewhere.
Something to look forward to if it comes to a town near you.
