Peter, I actually seen the movie HAWAIIAN BOY" many years ago on TV. It was filmed by Peoples Pictures (an independent), not in Hawaii but in Los Angeles, CA. Carl had a small part as a bartender/singer in a club. A lot of the movie was filmed in the Philippines. Carl's part was filmed at U/A Studio, L.A. He performed four songs in the movie; his recent ballad "Y-O-U", and three from his recent album with "Where the Rio De Rosa Flows", "That's Alright, Mama", and "Whole Lotta Shaking". The movie was only shown in limited release in theatres in 1959. He was not backed by his own band at the filming in May, 1959. At the same time he made the movie he taped two "Town Hall Party" TV shows in Hollywood, once again without his own band. Booker Lucky Moeller flew to Hollywood with him. I don't remember other songs in the film.
