Is it just a vocal overdub done by Rory G., or did Rory and Jerry record a duet together? I have not compared the two takes. If it was an vocal overdub by Rory, was this done during the Session, or has it been done later?

Judging by the article, I'm assuming this is a run-through from 'The Session', mainly just featuring Rory Gallagher, with JLL joining in at the end. If so, I don't expect anything polished, but nevertheless it should be interesting.

Even worse than JLL's solo version (and that is a load of cr*p in my opinion - even Jerry didn't want it released!).

Listen to Rory Gallagher and Jerry Lee Lewis perform the Rolling Stones' Satisfaction

By Fraser Lewry (Classic Rock) 2 days ago

The previously unreleased (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction featuring Jerry Lee Lewis comes from The Best Of Rory Gallagher - out in October

A rare outtake has emerged from Jerry Lee Lewis's The Session... Recorded In London With Great Artists album - originally released in 1973 – and it's coming to a record store near you this October.

The cover of The Rolling Stones' (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction features Irish blues legend Rory Gallagher alongside alongside Lewis, and will be released on a 7" single accompanying the upcoming compilation The Best Of Rory Gallagher, due for release in October.

The Session... Recorded In London With Great Artists was a famously feisty session, with musicians including Albert Lee, Alvin Lee, Peter Frampton, Spooky Tooth's Mick Jones and Kenney Jones taking part. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction features Gallagher on vocals and lead guitar, with Lewis adding a piano solo and singing a few lines.

“A bit bamboozled at the lyrics and a bit embarrassed at not really knowing of the song, Jerry’s paranoia kicked in and thought he was being ‘wound-up,’” Donal Gallager, Rory's brother and manager, tells Rolling Stone. "Annoyance flashed on the Killer’s face, as his wild eyes scanned the studio, fixing on Rory. ‘I trust you boy. Without looking at anyone else but me, tell me truthfully, is there a song called Satisfaction? If so, you start teaching me.’”

The compilation will feature tracks from throughout Gallagher's career, from his early days with band Taste to his final solo recording, 1990's Fresh Evidence. Full tracklist below. It's released on October 9.

I remember reading soon after the original album was released that Rory Gallagher was the only one of the assembled "stars" that Jerry had any time for which doesn't quite fit the comment from Gallagher's brother in the article quoted above. Although The Session got generally good reviews when released, I never rated it that highly. Not many of the guests added much that was worth it.

Agreed! Too much "ROCK" (without the "Roll") for me.

About the session. I looked in the Charles white book. Blue Suede Shoes  dosent have any mention. I think i read on the forum it probably could be from another session? Same goes for Haunted House.

Probably from the 'Why Me Lord' session.
