We'll only really know, I guess, when we see a photo of Jerry. Glad Linda Gail has visited. Very sad about the Phoebe situation especially at this critical time.

Aha, there you go!

Wanda Jackson on Jerry's stroke:

Q: Jerry Lee Lewis also recently suffered a stroke.
A: "I guess his was worse because he didn’t get to the hospital in time. He’s had a lot of rehab to go through. I feel sorry for him, but he’s coming along OK. I talked to his sister a few days ago. She said, “Yeah, he’s coming along. He will just be a while.”"

Thanks Wolfgang. Did Jerry & Wanda do a Paris show in recent years ? I wonder if she might mean the Forum ,in London, with that anecdote ?
On the stroke news - at least all seem to be agreed he's on the mend.

Martin.

Yeah, I am pretty sure she means The Forum in London. Not to my knowledge have they both played Paris in recent years.

Reading between the lines, Jerry's 'minor stroke' was more serious than that. First we were told concert dates would go ahead, then they were canceled. He has been in re-hab for weeks. According to Wanda Jackson they didn't get him to hospital in time. No photos have emerged of him since the stroke, and Linda, Judith and others are constantly asking believers to 'pray for Jerry'. I've known people with minor strokes who have made complete recoveries, and I've know others with more serious strokes who have permanent after-effects. We have to face the fact Jerry is now 83 and the possibility this is not the first stroke he's had, there have been rumors of earlier ones. My main hope is that at this stage of his life there can be a reunion and rapprochement with his daughter Phoebe.

On the other side they made it very clear that all shows up to June had to be cancelled. Nashville on July 1st is still on which indicates that they expect him to have made a full recovery by then. Judith also wrote that Jerry is doing "fantastic" and also Wanda Jackson said that Linda told her that Jerry would be "OK". They have always been asking for prayers even at times when Jerry was doing fairly well.

At first it was announced that Jerry had to cancel none of his shows, but then he spent two weeks in the hospital for a check-up and that was probably when they found some kind of impairment.

Rehab normally takes 2-3 months. After that we will know more.

Not sure what Jerry's stance on Phoebe is.

It can take years. Dave Davies of The Kinks was 57 and a fit vegetarian when he had his stroke, yet it took him several years to get anything like back to full normality again. I certainly wish Jerry all the best, but we (and he) might have to accept that his fast piano playing days are over. We shall see/hear.

I was talking about the time at a rehabilitation center. Of course full rehab sometimes takes longer.

Every stroke is totally different from the other.

The fact that Nashville is still on is a good sign.

No need to spread bad vibes. We will see.

"We will be back rockin' before you know it", another recent quote by Judith, yet people jump to conclusions about Jerry's state of health and his ability to play piano.

Once Jerry is gone I am sure some nasty fights will pick up in that family, but the art he has left to this world will last forever. He is simply the best!

Can't we blame those people or do you mean everything is true what Judith says

We know nothing. Therefore we should not jump to conclusions.

Lee has now posted a picture of Jerry. He looks alright. Still in rehab and improving daily according to Judith.

Good to see the picture. He is reading a paper, seems to be in a wheelchair at the rehab unit, but looks OK.

That is the picture which was posted by Judith on Monday. It is different to the one that Lee posted on Instagram.
