Probably the worse shows I saw JLL perform in person were in 1992, with him being far better in 1993 and 1995, and even 1998, 2000 and 2004 were VG. So the decline has never been straight-forward (heck, many wrote him off after the 1978 European Tour!).

Funny how the memory plays tricks. I thought the original film was in colour. I've obviously lost more brain cells than I thought. I also seem to remember that one of the groups in the film was called Slash Wildly and the Cut Throats!..unless that's another false memory...

You're right about the 2nd bit. From my book 'Channelling The Beat!':

THE ZEPHYRS
00-00-65 – ‘Be My Guest’ Movie (UK): She Laughed
Billed as the fictional ‘Slash Wildly and The Cut Throats’ for this movie, this frantic work-out is every bit as impressive as the songs performed by The Nashville Teens and Jerry Lee Lewis in the same movie.

That was out in the late 80's already on a bootleg vinyl together with the other outtakes 'Old Time Rock'n'Roll' and 'Milkcow Blues'. I've bought it back then and never understood why these gems were not officially released.

For those of you that enjoy colorizations, here is my creation of GBOF from Jamboree.

https://youtu.be/o8Psq87XxT0

and Shakin on Steve Allen show 1.

https://youtu.be/vkUYjSu8GIA

Certainly not perfect due to my software only being able to work with red-blue-green mixes but it is a different experience.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians here.

Thanks Lucio!

Although I'll never be a big fan of colourization (the visual equivalent of fake stereo!), I think 'Jamboree' works very well indeed.

I've heard of the TV show but certainly not the album. I wonder where Daniel got his info?

Here it is:

Almost certainly just studio recordings, as broadcast on a 1987 radio show.
